Verify the organisation independently
Fraudulent Islamic finance offers in India may imitate a real society, charity, adviser or investment firm. Search for the legal entity and its applicable registration independently of the message that introduced the offer. SEBI's investor-support service provides routes to check securities intermediaries and authorised app information. Compare the official domain, telephone number and receiving account with the proposed payment instructions. Pressure to act immediately, an unexplained advance charge or a guaranteed return despite poor documentation should prompt further investigation. Religious imagery, a copied registration certificate and testimonials are not substitutes for checking who actually controls the transaction.
Limit exposure and act on suspected fraud
Do not share an OTP, account password or remote-access permission with someone claiming to release a loan or refund a donation. Keep screenshots, transaction references, messages and the exact website address if an offer appears fraudulent. Contact the bank or payment provider promptly after an unauthorised transfer, and report financial cyber fraud through India's National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal or helpline 1930. Reporting can assist investigation but does not guarantee recovery. For a genuine organisation, raise the issue through its verified complaints channel without sending further money merely to unlock funds already promised.
